The State Bar of New Mexico Announces the Swearing-In Ceremony of 2026 President Allison H. Block-Chavez on Dec. 10 at the New Mexico Supreme Court

 The State Bar of New Mexico (“the State Bar”) is proud to announce the Swearing-In Ceremony of its next President, Allison H. Block-Chavez, at the New Mexico Supreme Court on Dec. 10 at 4:30 p.m. (MT). Her swearing-in as the next State Bar President marks a significant milestone as the State Bar reaches its 140th anniversary in 2026. “I am excited for my friend, Allison H. Block-Chavez, as she steps into the role of President of the State Bar of New Mexico,” remarked Aja N. Brooks, current President of the State Bar of New Mexico. “Allison is a true leader with a genuine heart for service, demonstrated through work on numerous State Bar boards, divisions and committees. Her unwavering commitment to our mission, paired with collaborative spirit and creative vision, will undoubtedly guide the Bar toward meaningful and innovative growth in the coming year.” “Observing Allison during her work with the State Bar, I have continually been struck by her thoughtful leadership. I am confident that she will have a meaningful impact on the legal profession as our next President,” said Richard B. Spinello, Executive Director of the State Bar of New Mexico.Allison H. Block-Chavez’s Swearing-In Ceremony will take place on Dec. 10 at 4:30 p.m. (MT) at the New Mexico Supreme Court Building, located at 237 Don Gaspar Ave., Santa Fe, N.M. 87501, where other members of the State Bar’s leadership and the legal community will be in attendance. The Swearing-In Ceremony will also be livestreamed starting at 4:30 p.m. (MT) on the State Bar’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/@StateBarofNewMexico/streams. Members of the media must obtain advance approval by the Supreme Court Clerk’s Office to bring a cell phone, camera or other electronic device into the New Mexico Supreme Court building. To obtain the necessary advance approval, members of the media must contact Barry Massey, Chief Communications Officer, Administrative Office of the Courts at 505-470-3436 or bmassey@nmcourts.gov. The State Bar of New Mexico was organized in 1886 and is composed of more than 9,000 members. Its purposes are to aid the courts in administering justice and preserving the rule of law, and to foster a high standard of integrity and competence within the legal profession.
