The State Bar of New Mexico’s Access to Justice Fund Grant Commission (“the Commission”) awarded $2,200,000 in grant funds to 15 civil legal service organizations for the 2025-2026 Fund cycle. Another consecutive record-breaking year, this marks an increase of approximately $400,000 over grant funds issued for the 2025-2026 Fund cycle.
The mission of the State Bar of New Mexico’s Access to Justice Fund Grant Commission is to be the financial steward of the New Mexico Supreme Court’s Fund for Access to Justice. These funds are generated pursuant to Supreme Court rule and include Interest on Lawyer Trust Accounts (IOLTA) and Pro Hac Vice fees.
The Commission awards grants to nonprofit organizations providing crucial civil legal services to low-income New Mexicans.
Grant recipients for the 2026-2027 Fund cycle are the American Civil Liberties Union of New Mexico, Contigo Immigrant Justice (f/k/a Santa Fe Dreamers Project), (De)serving Life, Disability Rights of New Mexico, DNA People’s Legal Services, Enlace Comunitario, Estrella del Paso, Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center, Native American Disability Law Center, New Mexico Center on Law and Poverty, New Mexico Environmental Law Center, New Mexico Immigrant Law Center, New Mexico Legal Aid and Pegasus Legal Services for Children.
