The Modest Means Helpline attorneys provide legal advice over the phone in civil legal matters including but not limited to domestic relations (divorce, child custody, kinship guardianship, domestic violence), landlord/tenant, small business issues, consumer and probate.

“The main goal of the Modest Means Helpline is to help people who are representing themselves in court to understand what their next steps are so they can have meaningful access to New Mexico’s judicial system,” said Kasey Daniel, Legal Services Director of the New Mexico State Bar Foundation.

Established in Oct. 2022, the Modest Means Helpline is now in its third year of service. Having benefitted over 15,400 New Mexican residents to date, the Modest Means Helpline is a testament to the New Mexico State Bar Foundation’s commitment to supporting New Mexico residents.
