The State Bar of New Mexico has been supporting New Mexico attorneys and assisting the public for over 139 years. The values and mission of the State Bar of New Mexico are guided by the Supreme Court Rule 24-101 NMRA which, among other things, provides, “In order to aid the courts in improving the administration of justice…to promote and support the needs of all members, to be cognizant of the needs of individual and minority members of the profession, including the full and equal participation of minorities and women in the State Bar of New Mexico and the profession at large...”

The State Bar of New Mexico was organized in 1886 as Bar association for the territory and is composed of more than 10,000 members (active and inactive).
