State Bar of New Mexico Privacy Disclosure
The State Bar of New Mexico is committed to protecting the privacy of its members and others who interact with the State Bar. This privacy policy governs information collected by the State Bar of New Mexico, the New Mexico State Bar Foundation and all Commission, Divisions, Sections and Committees of those entities [collectively State Bar].

Information collected and how it is used:
Member information is collected from the annual licensing statement and certifications as well as our website and other interactions with the State Bar. Non-member information is collected through the website and other interactions with the State Bar. The type of personal information collected will vary but may include  user profile information such as State Bar I.D.(bar number), name, mailing address, address of record, phone, fax, and e-mail address, birth date, credit card or other financial account information and demographic information. The type of information you provide will determine the personal information that is collected.

Information is used in order to process member or non-member requests such as; registering for programs and services, answering e-mails or on-line requests, sending information requested, sending and processing surveys, delivering State Bar services such as the Bar Directory, the Bar Bulletin, newsletters, meetings or events, identifying user permissions upon login to the website, e-commerce transactions, communicating general substantive information about the State Bar or the profession, providing statistical data in the aggregate on member demographics, and complying with court orders and rules of the profession.
 
The State Bar of New Mexico does not collect information through the use of “cookies” and therefore does not sell that type of information (tracking activity) to vendors, direct mail concerns, e-mail listservs, etc. (A "cookie" is a small text file that reports user and page activity.) The State Bar of New Mexico does provide membership data and e-mail services for approved proposes only. Please see the following specific policies governing those services:

Protection of Information
The State Bar has implemented numerous security features to prevent the unauthorized release of or access to personal information.  The State Bar of New Mexico uses secure server software (SSL) that encrypts all payment information before it is sent to a remote server. While we attempt to protect all members and non-members information against unauthorized release or access it can not be guaranteed.
