The City of Albuquerque Legal Department is hiring for various Assistant City Attorney positions. Hybrid in person/remote work schedule available. The Legal Department’s attorneys provide a broad range of legal services to the City and represent it in legal proceedings in court and before state, federal and administrative bodies. This attorney will serve as general counsel to the City’s Environmental Health Department (“EHD”) regarding Air Quality issues throughout Bernalillo County including at federal and state facilities. This attorney will provide a broad range of legal services to EHD including, but not limited to, administrative enforcement actions, litigation and appeals, stationary source permits and "fugitive dust" permits, air quality monitoring and quality assurance, guidance regarding EPA grants, control strategies, work with EHD teams to develop new or amended regulations to be proposed to the Albuquerque-Bernalillo County Air Quality Control Board (“Air Board”), attend and represent EHD staff at rulemaking and adjudicatory hearings, review and draft intergovernmental agreements regarding air quality issues, review and draft legislation regarding air quality.
