About the Immigration Law Section

The Immigration Law Section's mission is to support training and education efforts in the legal community related to immigration law, and to foster relationships between immigration practitioners, the law school, and the communities we serve.
Screen reader support enabled. The Board serves as a conduit for information and works to redistribute knowledge to the broader legal community as well as the community and the law school.  In addition to planning and supporting CLEs on immigration law, we also provide book scholarships for law students, plan mixers with the law school to engage in mentoring, and support a state-wide SIJS working group that provides training and pro bono assistance to vulnerable immigrant youth.

Liaison to the Committee on Diversity in the Legal Profession
If you’re a member of NMILS and would like to volunteer to serve as our liaison to the Diversity Committee, please contact memberservices@sbnm.org. This position involves minimal time commitment, but it is a great opportunity to make a difference and meet other colleagues dedicated to strengthen the Bar membership through diversity and inclusion.
